Summer holiday advice with young children

Hello, we have two children age 5 and 2. My eldest is in her first year at school. Previously we have gone abroad in May/June/September for holidays when the weather has been sunny but manageable with young children.

Now my daughter is at school we are tied to school holidays. Can anyone recommend destinations abroad to fly to within a couple of hours that are manageable temperatures with little ones in end of July or August please?

Thanks in advance!

North Croatia (fly to Pula)
The Vendee in France (fly to La Rochelle or Nantes)
Duinrell and surrounding area in the Netherlands (fly, train or ferry)

For this summer? Look at Brittany or the Vendee in France, easily drivable from the Normandy ports, take the overnight ferry from Portsmouth, mine loved it, a real treat (the Santander one was an even bigger hit but that's more expensive)

Another vote for Northern France.

Also Netherlands/Germany are both cooler than Mediterranean areas.

We did Austria (a Lakes and Mountains region) last year in August and the temperatures were mostly manageable, though we did also have some hotter days.
