Flying to newcastle, confused about restrictions on liquids in hand luggage

Hi
We are flying to the inlaws in newcastle for the 1st time next week with DS1 who is 11 months. Am confused about taking liquids in hand luggage! Any tips on what to take? He shouldn't need any milk on the flight but was going to take some just in case and his beaker of water - can i do this? Was also going to put a couple of tupperware tubs of food in the checked in luggage so that he has some meals when we get there - can I do this?
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Yes you can take milk and a beaker of water for a baby on board but you will be asked to taste both when you pass through security. I've flown 4 times internationally with my DD who is 7 months and that's all we have had to do.

Food in your checked in luggage is fine.
