Just read a couple of their latest reviews and they are negative and makes me want to cancel!
We go next week.

All hotels get negative reviews, for a variety of reasons. If you were to cancel, the one you might move to would also have negative reviews.

This particular hotel will have a lot of people who turn up not having done their homework and are disappointed to find that there is no beach nearby. It's located in what is basically a big estate of second homes. There is one other hotel next door and a big supermarket nearby, and only a couple of bars. You can walk to the sea but it's just cliffs and rocks. But the hotel runs a free shuttle service to the beach at Arenal (which is over 3km long) and there is a bus stop right outside to take you into Palma for €2.70.

I haven't been into the hotel itself, but if it was flea-infested or had some other major problem, that would be coming out in the reviews, which I just don't see. It's not the most expensive 4*-rated hotel in Majorca (probably because its location is not the most prestigious) and you will always have people who think they can get the Four Seasons for a Travelodge budget.

I also haven’t stayed at this particular hotel - but agree with the points made by the PP.

Looking at the recent reviews, they seem to focus primarily on issues regarding the pool being unheated, rules surrounding the pool use and there being noise from the bar / parties. Looking at the negative reviews more widely, there are people who say they don’t like the location (who I guess didn’t look the location up?) and that the hotel is focussed more on French holidaymakers rather than English.

None of these seem to be holiday ruining problems.

Would you be able to move Hotel if you wanted to?

Thanks both you are making me rationalise it all. I make a deal out of it in my head my husband has said the same things to me.

I'm worried about: not being able to go down the slide with my 2yr old (the review said the staff shouted at them no adults allowed!) but surely taking your kid down is ok??

The food.

The bar wait time - it seems to be 15 minutes+ queue and you can only get 2 drinks per adult (including children's drinks) so for me, DH and 2xds we'd wait 30 mins for us all to have a drink (because the kids won't wait in the queue for 15 mins a pop ( they are 2 and 4).

not worried by location at all. We will take the shuttle to Palma and do the aquarium one day and marinaland another day. Maybe the beach a third day.

And a bit worried about being woken by rowdy crowds for sure. It doesn't seem like a hen do destination!!

Looking at the pictures, there seems to be small slides and bigger slides. On one of the pictures of the small slide in the splash park, there is an adult sitting on it - so I’m sure that won’t be an issue. The bigger slides might be too big for your 2yo anyway - but if they never let adults go down any of the slides with their young children then that would be mentioned by most parents who left reviews, and it hasn’t been. My bet is that an adult was messing around trying to go down the tiny slides - and therefore might be risking damaging them. Or that solo adults were trying to hog the big slides and the lifeguards were stopping this.

There are comments about the pool side being slippy for young children - maybe taking some pool shoes would be a good idea.

Got the pool shoes based on the reviews so we are sorted there and tested them out today hehe.

Yes I noticed the adult sitting on the slide.Maybe you are right or that they were more strict so the hen parties didn't get any ideas.
