As the title suggests I am on the lookout for somewhere for one week from 6th July somewhere in Europe for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 5 & 7.
This year we were marking a special occasion so went to Dubai in March as our main holiday. We don't usually go away twice but am researching to see if I can swing something relatively affordable for that week of 6th July as I have annual leave that I have to take that week.
I guess what I'm looking for is accommodation with a pool in a nice town so that we can be within walking distance of restaurants for the evening (I don't want to hire a car unless absolutely necessary).
I'd like it to be coastal ideally (purely for the holiday "vibe" you get from such coastal towns), but don't plan on lying on a beach so the beach itself is not important at all (my two will prefer a pool to the sea).
I'm trying to keep the cost for the accommodation to a maximum of €1k for the week. I think this is very tight for July so hence wondering if anybody has some hidden gems that might be more affordable - maybe in places that are less well known to Irish/British travellers.
I don't suppose anyone has any specific recommendations for accommodation that might fit the above requirements?
Plan B is a city break, but I'm not sure if my youngest is able for the amount of walking that would be required on a city break.
