Hi!
If I have a flight that is from London, via Frankfurt to Ljubljana all booked via Lufthansa, but the second flight is operated by Citijet - will I be able to check in on line for both flights on the lufthansa website does anyone know? Just trying to avoid having to call to ask!!

I've not had a connecting flight for years so can't really remember what happens!

Thanks.

If by Citijet you mean Cityjet (apologies for the pedantry, but there is also an Australian company called Citijet and an American one called Citijets) then yes, your bags can be checked through, because really you are going with Lufthansa. (To check: What are the letters in the flight number?)

Cityjet isn't the kind of airline that you can book tickets with. It's a company that can provide planes and/or crew at short notice for charter purposes, or for the big airlines when the plane that they planned to use on your trip has to go for maintenance or whatever.

Lufthansa letting you know that the plane is "operated by Cityjet" is just a courtesy to let you know that the plane may have a slightly different seat layout from what you booked, or the onboard food and drink service may be either non-existent or different ("I'm not flying unless I get my official Lufthansa™©® potato salad appetiser", said no traveller ever).

So basically you are flying with Lufthansa, it's just that the plane will be a different colour. But their outsourcing the difficult bit to a more dynamic company doesn't mean that you lose the good stuff like through baggage.

@samarrange thank you so much! It is indeed Cityjet and both flights start LH so it’s exactly the scenario you describe. Thanks for your help 😊
