Riga or Santander?

Have the chance to book last minute cheap flights for either Riga or Santander for a few days in early June. Very different cities I know but both appeal.

Any opinions? Would likely do a day trip or 2 out of the city if in Santander.

I have been to both but years ago I liked both but I think Riga had more city break vibe for me

Santander is okay but I would go down to Bilbao from there is you decide to go and I think you can get out to the mountains from there

I like Riga more. Had lots of fun there. Has more of a tourist city vibe than Santander. Someone might come along with a different view.

I vote Santander. Lovely beaches nearby, amazing food and the Picos de Europa for a day trip

I really rate Riga, the buildings and especially the old town is just beautiful. Lovely place to just stroll about with lots to do as well (if you're into art you'll love it). Haven't been to Santander but I imagine it would be a totally different kind of holiday.

I think on balance Riga is a bigger draw and then hopefully Santander the next time.
