Sani resort - how good is the food really?

I'd love to go to Sani because I think the kids club and Nannys they offer will transform how we holiday with a toddler. However I know the resorts are sort of in the middle of nowhere - there's no little town with restaurants to wander to. We went to ikos last year and the food was not great, my husband is a real foodie and he basically wants River cafe style grilled fish, grilled meat - simple but really excellent.

Sani has loads of restaurants but I'm just worried about the quality. How good are they really?

Thank you!

I found them hit and miss. The over the water one was incredible but not included so we got a babysitter that night- totally worth it

We're going to Ikos this year shame to hear about the food!

@pambeesleyhalpert if you go to the Mallorca one check out the restaurants in the port - literally 2 mins walk from the hotel. They are the dream!

We went to Sani in 2016 so my review is probably not worth much. But don’t remember the food being either bad or good. I DO remember the kids club/entertainment/provision to be minimal though. We did use a nanny which was fine.
Just looked up prices for NEXT May and it’s definitely not worth £12k for a week 😆

We go to Sani most years. I think it depends where you eat. Highly recommend Tomata for the river cafe vibe for dinner and water / over water - the food in Asterias and Porto for breakfast has that vibe but haven’t stayed in the other two hotels.

We went two years ago for the first time. The better the accommodation you are paying for, the more choice you have of restaurants ( as in they aren’t all fully booked all the time) as you have a contact that can help. We were at Sani Beach and apart from the buffet and the odd night at the pizza restaurant in the marina area there was little choice as you couldn’t get a reservation. As for the quality, it was decent enough but limited as to what you could pick unless you wanted to pay supplements.

Amazing choice of food. But then you're paying top whack. Went a few years ago. Helkadinki

There are good restaurants at Sani - I personally found the Italian a bit meh, Over the Water has a 2 Michelin star chef so is good (as you’d expect!). Reservations are key as you can’t book in advance for every meal of your stay.

I found the food at Ikos very good too though tbh, the one in Greece.
