Heathrow parking

We've always used Purple Parking, they are safe, reliable, & are cheaper than the airport car parks.
However, we'll be going away for nearly a month later this year & the cost is high.

I live near another London airport, & there is a nearby "car park" used for "meet & greet".
It is a field, with no security, run by some dodgy characters.

Here's a list of companies that offer LHR parking at a cheaper cost than Purple.

Bee Parking Heathrow - Park & Ride £112.00
Easy Airport Parking Heathrow - Park & Ride £112.50
Heathrow Park & Ride - Park n Ride T2,T3,T4,T5 £114.00
Express Parking Heathrow - Meet and Greet £115.00
Go Park - Meet and Greet £115.00
Parking Panda - Meet and Greet £117.00
Heathrow 365 Parking - Meet and Greet £118.00

Anyone had any dealings with them, please?

Is public transport not a better option if you already live in the London area and will be away for a month? Or Uber?

PurBal · 02/05/2024 18:17

Yeah, I’d get a taxi.

Shittyproblem · 02/05/2024 18:36

Other "London" airports are not near London !

Gatwick, Stansted & Luton are a long way away.

We used a Black Cab to get home from LHR in 2017.
It was £150 - without tip. (Work expense.)

Opulent touch may if them and just get an Uber or pre booked mini cab

Use purple parking only as they are officially sanctioned by Heathrow airport.

If you look at trustpilot there are many many poor reviews for some of the other meet and greet companies you have listed
Cheap is also not always cheerful either.

Given too that you’ll be away for a month it will likely cost less to get a taxi to and from Heathrow.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 03/05/2024 10:49

Use a local and ideally recommended cab firm rather than a black taxi

budgiegirl · 03/05/2024 10:58

I wouldn't use those car parking services - most have shocking reviews on Trustpilot.

Either use Purple Parking, or prebook a private cab - they're not cheap, but they're not as expensive as a black cab. For example, last year we booked a transfer from Windsor to Gatwick, and it was £150 return, which I thought was pretty good.

Shittyproblem · 04/05/2024 18:30

Thanks for the replies.
There's a reliable local firm that we use, but they refuse to take a booking for the return journey. Which was why we had to use a black cab in 2017. £150 then is anyone's guess in 2024 !
I'd never heard of Trust Pilot, the results were very enlightening.

Purple Parking it will be.

I’d steer clear of those car parking services—many have terrible Trustpilot reviews.
Instead, check out Compare Your Parking Deals for great options, or prebook a private cab. They’re pricier than parking but cheaper than black cabs. For instance, last year we booked a transfer from Windsor to Gatwick for £150 return, which was a solid deal.
