Hi. I’m looking for somewhere to take my two kids ages 12 and 15 away for Christmas this year . Im
a single mum so 3 of us . So far the only
resort I know that’s open over the Xmas period is Benidorm . What are our other options flight time max 2.5 hours and not to far from airport? Is Portugal like Majorca in that it closes down over winter ? Any help greatly appreciated 😁

We went to Magic Robin Hood which is near Benidorm last Christmas and it was lovely. Full of Spanish families celebrating Christmas. Weather was sunny and warm in the day.

We've also been to Portugal over Christmas and had nice weather. Both would be good imo

I've not been actually over Christmas Day - but have had a few holidays going out 27th December coming back 4th Jan staying at Nerja (East Costa Del Sol). In general beach bars are closed but most restaurants in the town are open - although on NYE they either close or are open only for booked set meals . Have also done a short break at Alicante during this period - although that's a city rather than resort .

We've got an apartment booked in La Carihuela (Torremolinos) for this period later this year so I'm hoping that stuff will be open there.

I don't know about attractions like zoos and parks as we've not been close enough to those.

If you were prepared to add on another hour to the flight time The Canaries would be ideal.
