Adriatic or lake views with kids activities

Please recommend me a destination! I would like somewhere with beautiful views. I loved Croatia and would like to go back to the Adriatic coast. I also liked Lake Bled and would consider other lakes/mountains. I'm happy to either sunbathe on a beach or wander around, ideally with a chance to swim somewhere.

My 8yo like water slides and other adventure bits e.g. zip wire, but nothing too adventurous. My youngest likes swimming pools, beach, not walking too far! All enjoying exploring caves (on a tour rather than proper caving!)

We don't have the budget for the fancy hotels that have water slides etc in these locations. I'm therefore trying to find somewhere where we could access a waterpark/adventure park etc but stay in a cheaper apartment. I am considering Budapest for the lido and beautiful city, but would love the sea/lake if possible. I'm also considering returning to Lake Bled, but we don't want to hire a car, which may limit us.

As I've said, we don't want to hire a car, so limited to public transport or shortish taxis to keep costs down. Restricted to school holidays. Budget around £3000 for 4 (children under 10) for a week for flights and accommodation. I realise this doesn't go very far in these countries. I plan to be savvy with flights (planning ahead for next year so will try to get them when released) to leave more of the budget for accommodation.

Have a look at Amadria Park Trogir. It’s really close to Split airport and there are excursions that you can book with the campsite to the nearby Blue Cave https://amadriaparkcamping.com/excursion/blue-cave-hvar-5-island-tour/

I am not sure on budget but have a look at Bella Italia campsite by Lake Garda - there is a theme park and a water park just up the road and buses to get around the lake.

Another option would be the Alps, France or Austria, look for resorts based around a lake such as Tignes (expect there are cheaper options though).

Bled is gorgeous, we loved it, hard to match :). Lake Annecy in France lept to my mind, Annecy is beautiful and accessible from Geneva by train. Flight prices might be kinder as it's not as resorty as Croatia (in my mind). No idea about accomodation costs, but France not usually cheap. In terms of keeping the budget low, the Hungarian equivalent of Lake Bled is Lake Balaton. I haven't been, but historically that was always their domestic holiday destination. It might work as a 2 centre trip combined with Budapest, but you would need to have a good look. I see aqua parks but I have no idea what it's like as a destination. I have been to Budapest and it was lovely.

Look at pra del torri in Italy for an amazing camp/self catering site right next to the beach

I also liked the idea of going from Koper to the Postojna Caves then Ljubljana and Lake Bled but DH thinks it's too much moving around when the kids are little. Still on the list for the future!
