@TikehauLilly My DDs friend used to ski in Chile but was an instructor. It’s a long way to go. Santiago is a 14 hour flight from uk so you have to want it!

Where else to go? Peru is a good place to visit in our summer. Plus the rainforest area.

Also in Chile, Atacama desert, Easter Island and Valporaiso all possible. Sadly Chiloé Island will be a bit cold but you might not mind that. Further south and it’s cold - as you would expect. Brazil coast also ok if you want to stop on the way back. Pantanal definitely. Rainforest too.

Argentina has options. Buenos Aires will be comfortable. Mendoza, Salta and NW Argentina and Iguazu falls all reasonable temps.

My husband has been. Not with kids though. To be honest he said the skiing was rubbish very small slopes and runs so I wouldn't go for a ski holiday. He was there for work for a month and just went one afternoon on the weekend.

Thanks all. Gut feel is it's too far to go to ski. And then we would have to carry about our stuff if we went other places. We do have the luxury of a few weeks away.

Appreciate the replies.

@TikehauLilly Do think about a holiday in South America though. It’s wonderful and we’ve been to all the countries I mentioned. Plus Ecuador but I’m not sure that’s ok right now. Peru and the Amazon basin are amazing.
