Hi there,
am hoping you can help. DH, DD and I are hoping to go to Barcelona after GCSEs. DD wants to go to Barcelona to look at everything which is great, but DH and I would like somewhere a bit quieter to stay to swim and relax in the afternoons/evenings. We don't have a massive budget (have to pay for Ddog boarding fees while we're away) but would like somewhere with an easy commute into Barcelona, nice beach and some local restaurants.
We're looking at Sitges at the moment, but am sure there are other places on the coast that I haven't thought of.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

We stayed in S’Agoro many years ago and it was beautiful. We stayed here. It was about an hour from Barcelona airport I think.

We then went onto a wedding in Platja D’Aro. To be honest I wasn’t really looking forward to it (the place not the wedding!) based off photos but we had a really lovely holiday. Mostly Spanish people there, very few Brits. Great restaurants. We stayed a little out of town but can’t remember where. The Costa Brava was actually really quite lovely.

Hostal de la Gavina es uno de las joyas de la Costa Brava, un hotel con mas que 90 años de historia, con vistas sobre la bahía de Sant Pol, donde se puede relajar y descansar.

Sitges is lovely. Prom, beach, nice shops and restaurants - it has a really nice feel and easy on the train to Barcelona

Thanks both, much appreciated. I think I stayed in Platja D'Oro when I was a teen, would be nice to go back.
I will keep looking at Sitges, and see if I can find a bargain :)

Sitges is great but if you don't mind travelling further I can also recommend Begur. The beaches near there are lovely.

Agree with you. I love it there. The Costa brava is lovely.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated again. I'm trying to satisfy husband's requirement for good swimming, DD's need for access to Barcelona and the sights, and my own need for a quiet life and easy transport.
Sitges still looks pretty good for convenience....

Sitges is the nearest and very lovely. Blanes and tossa have good train links to BCN

Stiges have a lovely eurocamp we stayed at last year and was reasonably priced
