After a pretty rubbish year I’d like to take my kids away mid June somewhere nice. Always pretty much camped before so no idea really where to start. Budget about £3.5-4K. We just need to relax but for the teens particularly that would mean access to beach, pool, maybe some sporty bits. Maybe one of the aparthotel type places so we have our own space but I’d really like AI as the teens don’t stop eating!! Can anyone recommend somewhere or tell me if my budget isn’t going to stretch. Definitely needs to be warm enough to swim. Thanks

Highly recommend Dreams hotel in Sunny beach! Went there last July with family and everyone loved it. Was a bit wary because like previous posters I’d heard sunny beach was awful, but this is slightly away from sunny beach, so away from the crazy stag do vibe. Was our first experience with all inclusive & as we went with teens that also always eat, we were not disappointed. 3 or 4 restaurants to eat in each night, lunch by the pool and cafe that served cakes/sandwiches 24/7. Swim up bar was fab & pools were massive. Really good entertainment team and kids club, idk if your 11 year old would be too old but we had a 9 year old in our group who loved it! Entertainment on every night which was the slightly cheesy stuff you’d expect on an all inclusive, but to be honest we did enjoy. There was games each day; ping pong, bowls, and other things I can’t remember but we all played along. Loads of pools, with a seperate kids pool with slides etc. Staff were fab. honestly such a lovely hotel.

Hadn’t considered Bulgaria as wasn’t sure it would be warm enough to swim. Thanks. Cruise - I’m not at all against them but assumed they’d be well outside my price range.

My reply is of no use but I saw AI holiday and thought that meant Artificial Intelligence holiday, and for a few moments thought the world had gone even more bonkers than I'd ever realised.

Not sure if you'd still get a free kids place for 11 year old but we've just paid £3800 for 2 adults and 2 kids ( one free place ) here

Crucial information, when can you travel. The very last week of the school holidays can be cheaper if you go back in September (or the first week if you are in an area with earlier holidays). Magic Life (there's multiple locations) is a great option for you, it's a TUI brand . AI, some sports included, some entertainment (wasn't tacky either, live bands, and silent disco was hilarious ). Price wise you are best sitting tight until nearer the time as they seem to reduce prices 8 weeks out, register for their special offers via TUI app. I've stayed elsewhere and magic life just seems to offer a better overall option for ai, including alternative dining included in price. My hotel bill was zero at the end!

I’ve been playing around and found this
Mark Warner, daytime flights from Gatwick childcare/ activities for the youngest and a windsurfing course for the middle one.

She said she is going mid June.

I managed to get £400 a person off holding out until 4 weeks before travel btw. The hotel I suggested is slightly over currently at £4198 for 4 but I would be pretty confident you can get for less, needing 2 twin rooms makes life easy (family rooms are harder to find short notice). Fuerteventura hotel is right on the beach and on public bus route if you want to go out. We swam in the sea in winter!

Greece is nice and have lots of AI offers. Warm weather, great food. Kos, rhoades, Crete etc.

Hi, I join this chat as I have a question about travelling with teens.
my DC are 16 and 14 and I am starting to realise it is becoming difficult to going to places like Mallorca, Tenerife, Türkiye with them as while they were little they loved the beach and swimming pool and whatever husband and I used to do now they don’t have anything special to do.
what do your teens do when they are on holiday?

Some resort cater for teens and have games and entertainment for them. we went to one resort jn Turkey and they had an area for teens with ping pong tables, video consoles, basketball games, air hockey table, table football etc some resorts also have waterparks with slides.

Do they like watersports? Snorkelling, paddle boarding, canoeing?

Thisisreallyweird · 28/04/2024 11:01

Water sports absolutely, yes! They would do that.
But the other things you mention, well, they can do that at home. I was thinking of interesting places to visit for teenagers.

WhatWouldYouDo33 · 28/04/2024 13:25

Well what special things do they want to do? What are their interests? Maybe book city trips then or a city with a beach like Barcelona?

Theme parks. Water parks. Stadium tours of "big" teams. Hiring electric scooters of old enough. Cable cars.
