Haven dilemma!

I'm looking to book haven

I have three children one is asd adhd high functioning. The price difference between the caravans is quite a lot. I'm waiting to hear back about a grant due to DD needs.

Question is do a book the silver caravan and get access to the pools or do I book a gold caravan without access and hope they're happy with the beach etc? I hate the idea of being in a budget one but also worry that they will get bored. We will be going with a few family members (they have booked bronze) so won't be short of people to be around.

I'd book the pools access, it's such a big part of a haven holiday. The passes also give you access to the entertainment shows, kids clubs, soft play etc and depending on the site sometimes certain playparks can only be accessed with passes too (haven Lakeland for example).

We've only ever had bronze and the caravans have always been really good.

We nearly always book bronze. Caravans are always good. Only difference between that and the silver is the small veranda really. Also need the passes as mine like the pools and entertainment. We go to Hafan y mor and the pools/waterslides are great.

Been to haven quite a few times. I'd book the silver as it probably comes with a balcony and use the facilities on site.

Thank you all I was looking at the Caister on sea one near great Yarmouth. I've never been haven before or away with the kids as I struggle with my sen daughter. I was thinking either silver with access or gold without access. I'll be there for three nights. As no one else will have the entertainment in their package I'm wondering if I will even use it 😥

I have stayed in silver and bronze and now book bronze every time, not much difference apart from the balcony in my opinion. I'd book silver (or bronze) with passes.

My kids really loved the evening shows at Haven when they were under 10. Also loved the pools - so I’d go for the package.

Yes the evening shows are great for kids

Definitely book the pool access.

The main part about Haven is the entertainment complex for kids, you'll likely regret it if you can't access pools etc.

TheMuskratOfDestiny · 27/04/2024 09:26

We used to haven a lot (have now moved to camping as haven is now very expensive for what it is!)

We had passes but never used them, we hate the loud entertainment and don't drink, the pools are often a bit crap and cold. Not worth the extra spend in my opinion and my kids were always happy with the beach.

If you want to swim there is often a local leisure center that is cleaner and cheaper.

Kitkat1523 · 27/04/2024 09:30

Without the entertainment it’s pointless going to haven….just book a cheaper caravan elsewhere

Gymmum82 · 27/04/2024 09:33

We have done bronze and silver. Not much difference between the 2 aside from a varanda. We always book passes though. Always use the pools and entertainment that’s the best bit about haven is all the free stuff to do

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 27/04/2024 09:33

There are other activities aswell as the pool , and you may well be grateful of them if the weather is crap!

Damnyoureyessir · 27/04/2024 09:35

Silver definitely! I only book gold during colder months where we may be inside for more time. I usually book the better ones but for summer I’ve booked silver as we won’t need as much comfort in the van we’ll be out lots.

RunningOnCoffee6385 · 27/04/2024 09:39

Thank you all. We will be going in July (hopefully the weather is nice 🤦🏽‍♀️) I'll book silver with passes as long as it's clean I'll be happy.

We went and booked the cheapest type of caravan and it was completely fine.
