Best Caribbean island?

Which is the best / your most favourite Caribbean island?

Barbados! Safe and friendly so we can wander off the beaten tourist trail.

Tobago or go to one of the Grenadines.

It's hard to say as they're all so different, I loved St Lucia best though. Also love Barbados and Antigua. Liked the DR

I loved St. Lucia but found it not easy to do anything outside the resort without a booked trip.

Barbados was a lot easier, safe and we went out, hired a car, took the cabs etc.

Friends love Antigua but I found it too small.

The smaller islands. More character and less visited - no airports! BVIs are pretty much top for me. Airport at Tortola. BequIa and small islands in The Grenadines, Canouan, PSV etc. Go sailing in both these areas and you will see the best of the Caribbean.

I love Antigua. Didn’t really like DR but it was years and years ago. Would very happily go anywhere in the Caribbean!

Most posters will have been to larger developed islands so what are you looking for, @RichTea90 There is a huge difference in the island and what they offer.

St kitts and Nevis, stayed in little independent hotels on both islands, hired a car, bobbled about, no worries at all.

tried the same on St Lucia and didn’t feel safe all the time. Felt more aimed at all inclusives.
