Keeping kids entertained on the plane

We're going to Majorca this summer with DD's 5 and 2, any tips for keeping them entertained when travelling? They have tablets which we'll download some films/games onto but they tend to get fed up with them pretty quick at home so wondered if there's anything else we can bring to pass the time.
Can we take snacks from home on the plane?

We've flown very long haul with our kids since they were babies.

For the 2yo - different shape sticky notes were a hit for us. Easy tidy up but they can have decorating the seat around them, their tray etc.

For the 5yo if "would you like unlimited tablet time"
isn't a goer, I'd suggest card games like UNO or similar to stretch out the time. Easy to play in an enclosed space, doesn't matter if a card gets lost, etc.

Snacks on the plane are absolutely fine, check when you land what you can take into the country. You can also take empty water bottles and fill them up once you're through security.

When my kids were that age I made travel packs in the plastic evelopes with crayons, colouring books, stickers, small packet of haribos, story book etc you could add any thing small and cheap I just got stuff from the pound shop with their fav characters etc on them. Just tailor it for each childs needs and interests keep it cheap though it is also useful for sitting around the pool in the shade when they need quiet time.

For a joke I even made my husband one with crosswords and puzzle books and sweets

Their fave shows on repeat on the tablet.
Def take snacks on the plane, feed as much as you like.
A "special" sticker or activity book for travel with pens etc.

Whatever keeps them quiet/settled. Majorca isn't a long flight so hopefully their favourite tv show downloaded a few times should see you through most of it.
