Please help! I need a working link that tells me the destinations I can fly to from certain airports

I have landed on websites for airports that have whizzy looking route maps that look fantastic but just don’t bloody work! I can see live departures - but don’t want to wade through to find flights that I know only go once or twice a week but I don’t know which days. I just want a simple list showing what destinations and which days of the week. I’m looking particularly at Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports and I’m looking at June and July. I just get lost and redirected and bombarded with Ads - I’m sure there’s nice, clean websites that can give me this info! I’m a bit embarrassed I can’t find them so would appreciate some help. TIA 😊

Skyscanner?

IDontLikePinaColadas · 23/04/2024 21:34

Have you tried Skyscanner? When you click on the "To" section there's an option that come's up with Explore Everywhere

Flights from and sky scanner

Ermengarde · 23/04/2024 21:36

Yes Skyscanner. As above, choose Everywhere and then choose flexible dates and you can pick a whole month

Lesina · 23/04/2024 21:37

Do you know where you want to go? If so use Skyscanner.

failing that Google main carriers from your departure airports, then Google destinations from x airport on y carrier.

or pm me and I’ll help you :)

Flights From. But I feel your pain, it really winds me up that it's so hard to find out where you can get direct flights to from a specific airport.

Bettyscakes · 23/04/2024 21:43

The airport website has a section that tells you.

HigherDays · 23/04/2024 21:54

Sky scanner just throws too much info at me! It’s trying to sell flights and trips and I just don’t like the way it gives me the info - hard to explain. I’m only looking for European destinations like Spain, France, Portugal, Greece etc… don’t want Turkey, Cyprus, Canaries or long haul. It should be straightforward because we’re not exactly overrun with direct flights from Scotland. The most frustrating thing is when I put in my dates on an airline’s page and they say they can’t return results because obviously they don’t fly on the days ie. Saturday - but I can’t see which days they fly. I just want to see a list that says ‘you can fly from this airport, to these destinations, on these days of the week.’

My partner says I should Chat GPT it.

I’ve been on this site and got frustrated! I can see it offers up Kefalonia so I put my dates in and it returns an indirect option via Gatwick and BRS - So I go to the filter for ‘direct flights only’ but I can’t select that because they obviously don’t fly direct on Saturdays - but for the love of God tell me which days they DO fly direct - do you see what I mean?!

I need to go to a travel agent…

Just change the filters to direct. You're not going to get a more comprehensive and helpful website than this for what you want

RollaCola84 · 23/04/2024 22:11

Wikipedia. The airport's page will tell you destinations and airlines, might not help with dates as some are seasonal but good start.

Zogthebiggestdragon · 23/04/2024 22:13

I would look at the airport live departure board, this will tell you which flights they have now - do it each day over a week and you'll see each day. Then you can check the July timetable with the airline. Alternatively from EDI / GLA the bulk of flights to those destinations will be easyjet/ jet 2 so check those airline websites?

beetr00 · 23/04/2024 22:16

@HigherDays useful?

Thanks for the offer - I’ll get there in the end! I have a 2 week window and a tight budget so I can go Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun for 7 or 14 days or 10/11 days if an airline flies twice a week with a Sat/Sun and a weekday flight. It doesn’t help that I’m so bloody indecisive. I should just settle on a destination like Crete and be a bit more focussed. Im jumping around all over the shop - last night’s destination was Santorini because I found out you can fly there from Edinburgh.

Thank you MildMannered for feeling my pain and thanks everyone else.

But you can see that Easyjet flies EDI to Kefalonia. So just check the Easyjet website.

PrimalLass · 23/04/2024 22:22

Put Edinburgh to Everywhere into Skyscanner for your dates. Repeat for Glasgow.

kitchenhelprequired · 23/04/2024 22:24

Flightconnections.com is what you need. If you put in an airport code it will show all the routes on a map from that airport. Click on a route and it will give you all airlines operating the route, days they run and any seasonal info if they don't run all year round. Once you have that info it's easier to look on the likes of Skyscanner for prices. I've found it to be pretty accurate.

beetr00 · 23/04/2024 22:29

@kitchenhelprequired that's an awesome site, thank you

fedupwithbeingcold · 23/04/2024 23:18

Look at the departures site for the airport. I did that for Southampton and Bournemouth this week, and they show flights that Skyscanner was not showing

Lesina · 24/04/2024 18:29

PrimalLass · 23/04/2024 22:22

Top suggestion, really good idea. Thanks :)

Bjorkdidit · 24/04/2024 21:07

Jet2 fly from those airports and have a lot of flights. Their search facility is good and you can look for deals and also compare the cost of a package with booking separately.

The flight prices might look expensive but you get enough hand luggage to not need hold luggage so not as expensive as first appears.

samarrange · 25/04/2024 00:27

I think the quickest way is going to be to use the airlines' websites. Ryanair, Easyjet, BA, Jet2, Wizz Air, TUI should cover it. On Ryanair's site, as soon as you choose the starting airport the list of destination countries and airports removes the ones you can't get to, and maybe the other work similarly with dropdown lists or whatever.
