Have managed to book some cheap flights in a couple of weeks and looking at staying in Alicante for a relaxing long weekend with a girl friend.

Has anyone stayed in a nice apartment or hotel ? The old town looks lovely so would like to stay there.

I am very excited need a nice getaway .

I was going to suggest the Melia too. We stayed in a cheaper hotel further back from the front when we visited - but would definitely go for the Melia if we visited again . It's in a brilliant position - and I think they are good quality hotels .

No comment re Air BnB!! We had such an awful experience that involved a visit to the police. I've stuck to hotels since then.

Booking.com are more reliable than AirBnb if you want an apartment. You can often book hotels cheaper than booking direct via them too.

I would also recommend Vrbo for apartments.
