Have a good old root through the cupboards and drawers.

HirplesWithHaggis · 21/04/2024 23:51

Stick the kettle on.

Self-catering - putting the kettle on and putting away any groceries

Hotel - checking out the balcony/patio doors and the bathroom. DH always tries out how firm the bed is.

If self catering, have a good look around, then stick all the crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher and run a short cycle.
Next, put the kettle on and make some tea.

Go into the garden and scream into the sky.

Petrine · 22/04/2024 07:49

I put all the crockery, cutlery and cookware in the dishwasher.

I usually have a wee, cos 9 times out of 10, it’s the most pressing issue on my mind. The perks of aging! 😂

If it’s a caravan, I usually crack on with cleaning, as I like to ensure I’ve got freshly washed cutlery, plates, glasses etc. and getting food shopping in. If it’s a hotel, I have a little mooch around, and see what the room includes.

put kettle on to make a decent cuppa after drinking tea from butty wagons or service stations,
usually, me and partner make a dash for the loo to see who can get in first!

Agree with have a wee!

Move any breakable ornaments out of DC reach

Deal with inevitable DC argument over who sleeps where

Unpack clothing and hang up garments.
