we are thinking of going to croatia in september flying into pula with globespan.

we are trying to decide between the resorts of rovinj, pula, medullin and funtana,

has anyone been to any of these or know anyone who has been.

we have a 2yr old so we want to be near a beach and somewhere with a good selection of restaurants where we can all eat out in the evening.

hopefully someone can help

I've been to Pula, but it was nearly 30 years ago!

As I remember, it was more of a main town than the resort we were in (Porec), but was lovely. I've heard of Rovinj, but not the other two.

Sorry - that's really not much help! Your message caught my eye though because I'm trying to persuade DH to go to Croatia this year but he wants to go to Italy.

Went to Croatia a couple of years ago in June.

Stayed in Rovinj, which is a popular tourist resort centred from memory round the harbour.

We tend to travel around & find accommodation upon arrival in a nice place. Unfortunately Rovinj is very popular and we found no hotels available! So I would recommend booking before arrival otherwise like us you will have to rely on the local tourist office finding locals to put you up! We ended up in a granny flat attached to someones main residence, which for us was fine.

We then drove to Plitvice lakes, which was stunning. However be warned - stick to the main roads and check the forcasts as it rained when we went and it was bitterly cold. Again we had a problem with accommodation!

We went to Slovenia, planning to cross into Croatia, but in the end decided to head back to Slovenia early as its was less touristy, cheaper and much warmer!
