Off to Venice week today, cant wait, kids free aswell :-)

quick question - how to get from the airport to the hotel?

By far the best way to arrive in Venice from the airport is by Water Taxi - book a private taxi, one of my best memories of Venice.
You can book online - there are many water taxi companies to choose from.

Assuming Marco Polo get the Alilaguna boat.

Also - may I make a plea? Avoid the tiny bit around the Rialto bridge. Everyone clogs that up and 500 yards away - less - is beautiful.

You can go into goole maps and type in your destinations and it will show you the options.

Train every 15 mins and a boat every 30 mins.

Looks like you are behind the train station or a short walk from Piazalle Roma. Get the bus from the airport and walk.

We booked a private water taxi, great trip.
Expensive for us 2, but it's the same price for a whole family.

As a bonus, our hotel allocated the best rooms to those arriving this way.

We caught a bus from the airport then walked.

Private water taxi if you can -around 140euros - expensive but fab way to arrive, especially if your hotel has a private landing. The public boat is 15 euros per person.
