December/Christmas holiday

We’re considering going to Lanzarote (or possibly Cape Verde) in late December/over Christmas this year.

We want good weather but would rather stay in Europe due to cost and jet lag!

Has anyone done this?

I would usually always recommend Lanzarote, we have been many times around Christmas or Feb half term and always had a great time and weather. We last visited in Jan 24, I have to say sadly, for the first time ever, we found the local people quite hostile, for no reason whatsoever other than we were tourists. For that reason, we would think twice before returning and wouldn’t recommend to others, they clearly don’t want tourists. There seems to be a lot of dissatisfaction, surrounding the water shortage locals feeling tourists have been the priority over locals, property prices etc. This has been reported widely in the press.

Thank you, but people aside is Lanzarote warm in December and worth visiting?

Yes, it’s 365 destination, lots to see, very unique landscape, art, wonderful beaches. We usually hire a villa with private pool.

We had a week In Lanzarote in March - terrible weather! There was a storm and a whole years worth of rain fell in one day/night. It was cloudy and windy apart from one day. The week before was lovely apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️

We did Lanzarote in December and it was fine but a bit windy (maybe depends where you are) and the pool was cold. If you want proper warm weather id go elsewhere
