Unexpectedly Japan. You can eat well for not much money at all. There’s lots of free interesting stuff, local trains are cheap, even cheap hotels will be clean and safe…

Porto was very good value.

Porto very recently. Had a 2 course fantastic meal, soft drinks, bottle of wine (decent tasting) two shots and coffees and was around 48-50 for both of us! Also Ibiza, if you know where to go (I.e. not the beach tourist traps!) is actually very good value. I think around 9-10 euros last year for 2 large wines, coffee and olives.
