Just that really. 2 adults, a 5 YO & a 18 month old, we are flying to Perth next year. I've flown there before with Emirates, but their prices are a lot higher than say, Singapore Airlines whom I've heard are pretty good. Any recommendations? Or stay clear froms? Thanks!

It’s not the cheapest but Qantas offer a direct flight to Perth I’d consider with those ages as saves the hassle of changing, packing unpacking, hauling sleeping children through another airport etc…

Otherwise I rate Thai. Avoid Royal Brunei - they added an overnight stop after we’d booked with no option to avoid…

@Glitterbaby17 Thanks for that, I will bear that in mind!

flown Qantas /ba / emirates / Singapore / Malaysian / air Nz to Nz / aus from uk with kids. All much the same - in that it’s complete luck of the draw what cabin crew are like (especially Qantas : some real diva men not so keen on babies!!)

@Wishlist99 hhmmm that's interesting! I'm put off Malaysian airlines due to a bad experience but all the others

I've only done Emirates and Singapore Airlines but each time and I have found Singapore much much better!

No direct flight to Oz currently due to Iranian airspace. Qantas do offer family space seat thingy though (where you get 3 seats for 2 for a bit extra) and the convert into a bed type space....

DB prefers the direct flight and kids seem to cope ok.
We've done emirates 3 times to Perth. Absolutely fine, lots of films etc. just v v long.
What are you doing when you get there. You must go to Rottbest. But all the beaches are lovely and lots of amazing playgrounds in the suburbs of Perth.

With 2 youngsters I would save on airfare and organise a stopover for a day or 2 in Singapore and get an airline according to your budget. My straight through flight from Perth back to England was horrid (albeit may years ago). Singapore (airline and airport) used to be fab

morrisboris · 15/04/2024 21:55

@Mumaway wow that sounds good! Do you know what it's called or is it obvious when booking?

Sorry just seen emirates is the expensive option 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Singapore is very good and I have flown many times with Cathay to Perth (from HK not UK) and their entertainment system is vg and food reasonable too.
