Is Thailand a good family destination?

I have a 2 and 4 year old (by time we want to go on holiday February maybe) and I'm wondering if it's a good place to take them.

I'm wanting to go somewhere for roughly a month so looking at affordable options so any other ideas welcome.

Thank you

Took my DD who was 2 and a half and she had a great time even though she doesn't remember it. Thai people love children and she was spoilt rotten by the hotel staff. We've been back since then where she remembered the holiday and she can't wait to go back. We're going again in a few weeks and she's very excited. We go to Ao Nang in Krabi which is quite family-oriented.

I went to Khao Lak a few years ago, for Christmas. The place was very family orientated - mainly Scandinavian families.

Took DS at 18m to Khao Lak and Hua Hin at 4. Fabulous country with children.

How was the flight for such little children? That's the only thing that would put me off!

It's a great family destination. Go!

It's brilliant with young children and the Thai people love children.

You will have a fantastic time.

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy fine, DS slept a good chunk. Also it’s 12 hours of (potential) misery for a long lovely holiday in my favourite country. By 5 DS had done Thailandx2, South Africa and Antigua so was used to long haul flights and sleeping on a plane- night flights are easier IMO.

I am looking to go with a 1 and 3 year old. Any hotel recommendations or specific locations for these ages.

Went to Khao Lak and Bangkok and stayed at the sands Khao lak. Lovely but expensive for a month.
