I want to go with a company that will sort out flights and accomodation and possibly tickets for Broadway.
any suggestions?

Wouldn't you be better putting it together yourself using hot tips from mumsnetters?

(I went with DD & MIL some years ago and the prices for ready-made packages were horrific. DIY with tips from internet friends did it a) more cheaply and b) with much better accommodation.)

First time I did it I just booked tickets on expedia an hotel recommended by an NCT friend. The important thing about the hotel at the time was that it had a two large beds (one for MIL, one for me to share with then 2yo DD), bathroom and a kitchen. Across the road was a small supermarket where we could pick up food so that we always had a supply of breakfast/fruit/snacks for any of us. We didn't exactly have a wild time - we stayed four nights I think and one evening I met up with a friend and went out whilst MIL babysat; another evening MIL did a night-time bus tour and walked back from Times Sq to E64th St alone - she was v chuffed she'd felt safe enough to do that!

I've done two further trips - one meeting with a friend who flew in from Texas and we stayed in Times Sq. We mostly shopped.

In December 2007 we did a family trip - DH, DD and me - and stayed at the Doubletree Suites in Times Square. We got a huge upgrade to a 2-bed suite because they messed up our booking big time (imagine arriving in NYC at 2am in a snowstorm with an 11yo - on her birthday! - and finding your room has been sold even though you advised in advance you would be arriving in the early hours).

We've only ever flown Virgin to NYC.
