Anyone booked with Jet2 recently?

We have decided not to pay to rebook seats (2 adults, 2 hour flight, not bothered about sitting together) and just leave it to chance when we check in online 28 days before but a friend has told me you still have to pay?
Is this true?

I don't think so. We pay to book extra leg room but I can't think what you'd be paying for if you're not choosing particular seats.

SpringOfContentment · 12/04/2024 13:34

Nope.
We don't pay at booking.
We do log in when things open.
We'd like 4 (rather 3+1 over the aisle), be more than happy with 2 sets of 2. If we all end up seperate it's not the end of the world.
We don't pay tho. Might change our mind if we get totally split one year, but not happened so far.

If you logon as soon as booking opens are you likely to be able to get seats together?

I've just booked flights for 3 of us with Jet2 and I begrudge paying the additional fees so we have decided to chance it too!

TroubleMakingWitch · 12/04/2024 13:40

*check in opens I mean!

iamme21 · 12/04/2024 13:42

I did on line check in last week, the day after it opened. Got 2 seats together, didn’t pay.

RobbieisWright · 12/04/2024 14:25

Thanks all

DH and I went with them in January and booked last minute. All the legroom seats had gone but we got two together. I paid extra though.

No you don’t, I’m off to Budapest on the 19th, four of us, we didn’t pay, we are sat two in front of each other and the other two also in front of each other but six rows back.

Secondaryappealhelp · 12/04/2024 19:22

We never pay and usually get 3 seats together. We've flown elsewhere and got split into 2+2 but jet2 have always put us in a group of 3 with the single seat within a couple of rows.

Wolfcub · 12/04/2024 19:24

Not true. I flew with them last week. My friend and I checked in on separate devices at the same time and ended up sat together. No charge.

DurhamDurham · 12/04/2024 19:25

We book holidays with Jet2 at least twice a year. We never pay to sit together and have never once been split up. I have the passports ready and check in immediately once online check-in is open. I don't know if that makes a difference but it might so I wouldn't risk leaving it longer.

Mumaway · 12/04/2024 19:26

We aren't worried about sitting together, ended up with my ideal scenario of seats either side of the aisle towards the front. Unfortunately they then swapped to a very old plane because of issues. Many legroom people and paid seat people were very unhappy. It didn't affect us.The main issue was there was only 1 working toilet for the 300ish people in the plane, right in front of some of the moved legroom people who then had people queuing in the legroom space the whole time to let the trolleys down the aisles

That's my plan for midnight if I can stay awake haha

Everytime we have checked In we have got seats together..

We checked in 3 weeks ago and got the seats together. I'd check before the time it says check in opens as it's always open before your "flight time".

Good luck, you can do it! Grin

DurhamDurham · 12/04/2024 22:23

Just in case you don't know, you probs do, it's exactly 28 days so the hours and minutes count too. Unless your flight is at midnight it's pointless staying up just so it's the correct date. Has to be the correct time too.

BrieHugger · 12/04/2024 22:27

We’ve been with Jet2 holidays a few times and never paid for seats. Always been seated together, all eight of us. Not sure if it’s a different policy for flight only.

Yeah just been on and I miscalculated and have another 17hours to go haha
Luckily I didn't stay up till midnight Smile
