Where to go in May half-term?

DH is determined to go on holiday during May half-term. I’m not as keen because we’ve been away twice during that week before and both times it’s rained (Turkey and Italy).

I’d prefer to not risk it again by trying to choose somewhere with as little chance of rain as possible. An almost impossible ask I know!

Does anybody have any suggestions? Ideally, no more than 4 or so hours flight away.

We’ve had some lovely holidays in May half term and not hit rain at all. Perhaps we’ve been lucky but I find it a good time for both city sightseeing and (rather chilly) beach/pool dips.

We’ve been to Rome & southern Tuscany, Venice & Lake Garda (forecast said rain but it wasn’t), Crete. Also on my list for this time of year: Dubrovnik & island(s), Pompeii & the Amalfi coast, Athens & Hydra or another nearby island. Maybe south of France to avoid the summer crowds. I’d probably avoid Atlantic coast or anywhere mountainous as much more likely to hit rain.

This year we are going to Devon and Cornwall, suspect we are pushing our luck weather wise!!

Canaries. About 4 hours, consistent weather.

Cyprus is pretty reliable at the end of May
