Unexpected got a couple of days off midweek - where to go from london

Got weds and thurs off work having originally been told I couldn't take leave this Easter.

Would love to take my 4 yr old away for a couple of nights (she loves going to new places). Originally thought of Kent or Essex coast but the forecast is pretty bad.

Open to anything within reasonable travel distance - thinking either a city or activity-hotel type places if any last minute availability.

@IlesFlottante Maybe Bournemouth? You could get the bus to Corfe castle if the weather is iffy. Or stay in Swanage and go up to Corfe via the railway.

Or somewhere like Oxford that has lots to do.
