Going to Center Parcs in Holland at Whitsun. Breaking the journey in Ghent on the way but having trouble finding somewhere to stay that is within a 'hoi' of the town centre (arriving at 4pm, leaving at 9 am next day but wanting a teensy look!- PLUS possible longer visit on way back home). We're 2 adults and 2 DSs (7 and 9).

Should we go the chain motels out on the motorway to the south or venture in a little, mindful of the warnings that central Ghent is a nightmare of one way streets?

Not necessarily looking for 'really nice', 'twee', 'unique experience' type places, just somewhere where we can all stay albeit 1 child, one adult per room if necessary, but preferably perhaps a 'studio/ interconnecting rooms' place where DH and I can stay up past 9pm with a bottle of wine without creeping round 2 sleeping (ha!) DCs.

We're working to a budget so ideally no more than say 125 euros per night B and B.

Any thoughts whatsoever re Ghent gratefully received!
