Resorts close to an airport for Summer

I'm looking to travel to somewhere for a week in the summer with a close transfer from the airport. Hit me with what you know and love xx

How close do you want? Maho Beach on St Maarten is at the end of the runway ….

How far is "not far"?

Lanzarote, Playa Blanca is a short trip. However if you book private transfers anywhere you can usually cut the travel time way down

Split in Croatia or Bilbao in Spain. You could get to Getxo in about 30 mins from Bilbao airport . Ixia in Rhodes although it is a pebbly beach. Chania if you fly into Chania airport rather than Iraklion

Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote . You can watch the planes coming in from your balcony.

Caleta De Fuste in Fuerteventura is 15 mins away

Nice is about 20mins from the airport

The problem with transfers is often not so much proximity to the airport as getting the bus filled up and then touring the hotels. You can avoid this with a private transfer or taxi, which of course won't be too expensive if you are close to the airport. You probably worked all this out OP, but I've seen people complain about their nightmare 3-hour transfer ("never again, we'll go nearer the airport next time") when in fact only 30 minutes was on the road and the rest was waiting at the airport for the last of 4 flights or being at the last of 9 hotels.

If you want a city and beach combo, Malaga is 12 minutes on the train from airport to town.

Anywhere on Menorca, especially if you get a taxi from the airport. The longest transfer is about an hour. You can’t go wrong.

Corfu Town is close to Corfu Airport, and there are resorts within 20-30 minutes if you don't want to stay in the town itself.

Nice. You can literally walk from town into the airport ( done it).

The St Augustine train station is a quick 10 min walk. The train goes up and down the coast so Monaco and Italy in one direction, Antibes, Cannes etc in the other.

Was also going to say Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote or Palma in Majorca.

Most of the resorts in Hurghada are close to the airport too. The Steigenberger adults only is right next door and meant to be great (we stayed elsewhere).

Playa Palma is 15 mins max in taxi from Palma airport

Do you have DC?
When my DC were small, we always used to get a cab rather than use the coach transfer. Now that we are adults, I don't mind the coach transfer and doing a little tour of the hotels.

Salou is very close to Reus airport and also Port Aventura theme park

We went to Salou and Cambrils when dcs were small and I couldn't face a long transfer. About 20 min from reus if I re correctly

Playa D'en Bossa in Ibiza is next to the airport.

+1 for Reus, amd Cambrils/Salou region.

Shortest flight possible to Med, small airport so very little queueing, 20 minute transfers, great beaches, great buses, Port Adventura if you like theme parks, water parks, and even option of day trip to Barcelona
