What's the best beach in North Yorkshire?

I'm going to do my first solo little trip with my kids. I'll get an Airbnb in north Yorkshire. What is the best beach to be close to? I don't want busy ones like Blackpool I want picturesque ones! Big open spaces, big sandumes that sort of thing. Where the kids can play in the sand and I can read a book. I'll bring packed lunches with us so again no need for much facilities.

Filey is lovely. At the far end there's a small beach near a golf club that's very quiet and pleasant. It has a chippie, shop and kids park in walking distance

Trust me, the word is already out - but - best time to visit is always the week before & week after any school holidays, and midweek 🥸 it's still just as lovely but usually quieter then.

Can I recommend the surfers against sewage app- tells you current shit discharge into the sea.
Scarborough is not great (esp not south bay) and lots of the coast is bad after heavy rain. Yum!
