Please me find a holiday / catered villa in Europe

Hello,

I'm going batty trying to find a trip that will please a big group of people with different needs.

  • must be in the EEA so that GHIC insurance cards work
  • ages range from 80 to 18m with a handful of 7-9 yr ilds and 3 sets of grandparents.
  • ideally we'd all be under one roof, like a villa but I really dont want to cook and clean for 16 ppl all week and pay a fortune into the bargain. Been there, done that, never again.
  • we could look at a club med type holiday but parents of young child don't want to be stuck in a hotel room with them in the evening.
  • ideally some kind of kids club but as long as there's a pool, this could slip.

Ideally, some sort of villa in a resort with 7 bedrooms. At this stage, I don't care about budget but of course I'd like it to be as cheap as possible.

Please send help. And gin! I'd be hugely, seriously, grateful for any suggestions. One of our relatives has come through a hellish hear health wise and we want to celebrate them coming through in one piece but oh boy, I'm tearing my hair out...

Do you have to all stay in one villa? Sounds like a nightmare. How about booking 2-3 villas in same resort? I have only ever seen 7 bedroom villas outside the EU.

I think you’ll really struggle to get a 7 bedroom villa in a resort. If you’re open to splitting the group in two have a look at Pine Cliffs in the Algarve - it has villas, townhouses and apartments and has a kids club.

The leading and award-winning Luxury and Family Resorts in Europe, a hidden prime seafront location on the coastline of the Algarve, Portugal.

Also have a look at this agency in Lake Garda - Holiday Garda. Not a resort but they do provide add on services (and the service is excellent). We organised chefs, babysitters etc. The villas were also lovely.

Look at the properties that Scott Dunn have, hands down the best kids clubs. They had large apartments or hotel style accommodations at a couple of places I went to with them.

Suite villa Maria in Tenerife would tick all the boxes. It’s a villa based hotel.

Might be something on here that fits the bill

@mimosa1 when are you wanting to go? And what would be the max budget?

I know you say you're not too concerned re the cost but a quick Airbnb search for a week in August brings back over 1,000 villas in Europe that sleep 16 and have a pool. I guess budget must be a factor as many of the 1000+ villas are over £15k for a week

I've just been looking as your question really intrigued me and I have found Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus which I think ticks a lot of your boxes although you would need to book two villas.

You could get a three bed villa and four bed villa for a week in Aug for c. £13k plus flight cost on top.

All the villas have pools and can access the hotel facilities which includes 7 restaurants and a kids club.

I haven't been so can't recommend but google / Tripadvisor review scores are all pretty good.

Have a look at Parco San Marco resort on the Italian side of Lake Lugano. Setup ranging from small villas to 1BR, all with their own little terrace or balcony. Great breakfast, several restaurants, kid's clubs and activities. Wonderful friendly staff.

Edited to add: I believe they arrange airport pickup from Lugano or Milan, or take a train from Zurich and get a car rental at Lugano station for the 20 min drive.

Parco San Marco Hotel**** and Aria Luxury Hotel & Spa.

Directly on the shores of the wonderful lake of Lugano, just 12 km from Lake Como, in the heart of an extraordinary park of 35,000 m2 and a forest of 200,000 m2

Another vote for Hotel Suite Villa Maria in Tenerife.

Thanks everyone, I'm off to check out those suggestions.

(I know it sounds hideous organising everyone and spending a fortune - August is our preferred time to go. Ig it we're up to me, I'd do an all inclusive fly and flop hotel with a kids club but I'm going to make a good faith effort to find something that suits everyone and some of the places mentioned sound lovely).
