Has anyone been to a resort they'd really recommend? Looking to go back next year for my 40th but struggling to fine The One online.

Ideals -

Speedboat from Male
Reasonable range of activities
Great off beach snorkelling
Reasonable price (not that anywhere here is but under £8k for 8-10 nights!)

Sun Siyam Olhuveli is speedboat only. Nice house reef, we saw turtles, rays, sharks, nice corals. A few pools, you can hire paddle
boards, kayaks etc.
if you have kids, they have a kids club too and kids disco. Go for the nicer beach villas, the cheapest ones are old and dark.

Your best bet is to head over to the Maldives forum on trip adviser, all you will get on here is people (inc me!) who have been to one or two resorts so have very limited frame of reference.

There are people over on trip adviser who have been to literally dozens of different islands and can give you far better advice.

My two penneth, if you’re going for more than 7days, I’d def go for the seaplane transfer, or even the domestic transfer to the gaafu dahluu atol.

it’s well worth the few hours of pain in terms of the travel for way better value for money. Under £8k is quite tight on budget, you’ll get far more for your money if you can grit your teeth and accept a bit of inconvenience. The views from the seaplane are epic too.

Take a look at Summer Island. Just over 30 mins from Male. We had the best time and the staff were amazing.

I'd recommend cinnamon dhonveli, everything was perfect. We stayed in an overwater suite for 10 nights, premium all inclusive for around 7400.
