Calling anyone currently in Australia - preferably Brisbane and Melbourne

Please could you tell me what you are wearing at the moment and what you expect to be wearing in 2 weeks' time, especially anyone in Victoria.

We are going to be in Brisbane at the end of next week for a week and Victoria the week after and I am having difficulty getting my head around what I need to pack. I know Brisbane was 26 C last weekend and having been there in April before, I know it is like a warm summer's day, but I am less sure of Victoria.

Please advise as to what clothes we might need. Thanks!

well I 'm in my vest and pants relaxing on my lounge (Aussie for sofa, but of course I never use that phrase myself) the air con is set to 23 and it's about 28 outside and 9.30pm

But I 'm in Western Australia and am simply showing off.

Can't help you I 'm afraid, but have a great trip and don't forget to pluck your eyebrows before you go.

Your vest and pants Suzy? I have an image of a child of the 1960s doing PE. Are they regulation navy blue?

Thanks anyway. TBH, dreading the whole thing!

Hmmmm .. more of a chewing gum grey

It's definitely autumn in Victoria. At the moment. Dress as you would for brisk autumn day in London. When the sun comes out it will be warm, so layers are the thing. Don't forget sunscreen and sunnies.

DumbledoresGirl · 29/03/2008 19:44

Any idea of the temperature wishfort?

hi Dumble, I'm off to visit my sister in melbourne on Friday and have been asking her the same thing. Yesterday it was about 20 but the forecast for one day this week is down to 16.
Have a great trip (like you i'm dreading the whole thing so let's hope we are both pleasantly surprised!)

hi there Dumble
I am in Brisbane the now wearing shorts/ t shirts/ skirts, nice n warm, meant to be a bit cooler end of week and some showers.
Was in Adelaide and Sydney last week, was nice during the day and could wear the same but had trousers and cardigan at night (and I am usually used to Soctland temps!)
What age your kids, they flying too?
My 2 survived so far so good ... they are nearly 2 and youngest nearly 5 months.

Hi Dumble, It's been max about 20 to 24 for the last week, and gets down to about 10 overnight. Forget flippy skirts, as it's windy, but it is supposed to rain a bit, so pack light layers.

superjo · 02/04/2008 03:32

ah, forgot - I'm in Melbourne

mckenzie · 02/04/2008 09:21

hi superjo, I cant get my head around what those temperatures mean! Will the children want shorts and t shirts?
TIA
