We are looking for a week to ten days in August with two kids (9 and 4). 9 year old loves adventure and activities and the 4 year old would prefer something more peaceful.
Want:
- Somewhere with activities for the older one
- more-than-basic accomodation
- Some nice towns with cafes restaurants nearby to potter around in, take in some culture
- Bike rental and nice bike paths around
- Beach/lake nearby
- Good chance of nice weather
Don't want:
- Very long drive. Happy to fly/train and public transport
- Too much heat
- A very busy place
I am thinking somewhere near a water park/theme park would be good for my eldest.
We almost always do city breaks but this might be the year to change that and do a resort type holiday.
