Last year due to my redunancy and using my last ever concession on holidays, we went on an all singing, all dancing trip to Florida.

We stayed in a Disney hotel (Port Orleans) and just enjoyed ourselves to the max. As I was a travel agent at the time I managed to get the holiday for a pittance over the easter holidays.
I will never be able to afford a holiday like that again- but we really want to go back next year ( Its all that we talk about)

So- is it possible to do it really, really cheaply?- Flights accom etc???

Someone point me in the right direction- The holiday that we had last year should have cost 4k for the flighst and accom alone- I got it for around £1400 and would love to pay a similar price but dont know where to start.

(Reading Bossybritches florida thread is depressing me!)

When do you want to go? We usually get the absolutely cheapest flights we can to Florida- always involves changing somewhere like New York or Philadelphia, but so much cheaper if you are willing to change....we've done that several times even when the dcs were v. young and never found it a problem, just need loads of toys and snacks!

I spend hours trawling the internet to find cheapie airfares - recently found American Airlines website to be cheapest, but sometimes it's expedia or opodo or travelbag. Dial a flight are ridiculously cheap but don't have very varied offers - keep trying sdates either side of when you want to go too as the price can vary by 40% from day to day.. As for accom, can't really help with Disney as we always stay near Miami, but again, keep trying the net - with the exchange rate so low you would be better to rent direct from a US property owner/hotel as it'll work out cheaper. Enjoy!

I would think a villa is going to be your cheapest option. My friend stayed in one last year for around £400 per week.

We have been fairly lucky as we have managed to use our airmiles from Virgin. Last year our flights were only £1372 for four of us. Unfortunately this year (even with miles) we have to go in the main school hols due to DS1 finishing Yr6 and going on the 25th July the cost of the flights alone is £2450.

We do not stay in the Disney hotels, but stay in a very nice Sheraton complex on the really quiet end of I Drive.

I'm tied to certain dates as I will still be at uni- I think it willbe around 16th april 2009, some flights have not been released yet though.

will keep looking= thanks!!
