Does anyone know of any hotel in Cyprus or anywhere in Greece where sunbeds are allocated for the duration of your stay? Or any hotel basically anywhere in Europe that does this? Thank you.

Nope never heard of this tbh. Maybe at an ultra all inclusive type setup.?

countdowntonap · 24/03/2024 20:49

Are you just a couple? Book a room with your own pool/loungers.

Notimeforaname · 24/03/2024 20:49

In Greece its actually quite common to be able to just walk in off the street and use sunbeds/pools once you buy food and drinks at the bar. But again, depend on how fancy the place is.

alexander the Great in paphos

great if you get a good one but if you don’t then it’s pretty rubbish tbh

Alexander the Great - paphos
sunrise jade - protaras

both Cyprus but are great hotels, you choose sunbeds for your stay and they pop your room number on the umbrellas. You can change them during your stay easily if you notice one free in another area!

I second Sunrise Jade, lovely hotel and the allocated sunbeds thing was fab.

ComingtoKent · 24/03/2024 21:15

Forgot to say that you can also change your choice of sun bed if you change your mind, according to availability obviously.

Was going to say Alexander The Great too. It’s easy to ask for different ones if you decide you don’t like the ones you’re allocated.

CanteringAlong · 24/03/2024 22:36

i've read online that at alexander the great you are all crammed in next to each on your sun beds?

Yes agreed on Alexander the Great - beds close together and despite checking morning and afternoon we couldn’t get even a half decent location. Ended up going to the beach everyday.

we also were going to bed before 11 and the music from their shows was quite irritating. Food was fine though.

space99 · 25/03/2024 09:44

It’s a while since I went to Alexander The Great but I walked past last year and did comment that the sunbeds were really crammed.
The Ivi Mare in Paphos does not allocate sunbeds but there are so many, that you would never struggle to get them. And they are the comfiest sunbeds ever, more like actual beds.

Sunrise hotel group in Protaras, Cyprus offer this. Sunrise Beach/Pearl/Jade (not sure about Gardens) and have heard it's being introduced at Sunrise Oasis for this coming season too. You are allocated beds in an available location on arrival for the duration of your stay but can speak to pool staff to change to another location when any become available.
Capo Bay in Protaras also previously offered this, not sure if they still do.

A suggestion for elsewhere in Europe. Sunset Harbour Club in Tenerife allows you to choose which beds you want the day before and then they reserve them for you the following day. We found it worked really well. Anyone who reserved a bed and didn’t turn up within and hour then the pool attendant then allows other people to use that bed. It stops people reserving them and not using them. It also meant there were always bed available even if you hadn’t reserved you could get one and this was in kids holidays.
