Europe hotel recommendations - short break

Unexpectedly without children for a week mid June (the stars have aligned with school trips at the same time!) and DH and I want to take the opportunity to get away somewhere for a few days.

Looking for no more than a three hour flight and a short transfer but can go anywhere. I think we fancy somewhere hot, hotel with a pool (and most importantly no bun fight for sun loungers), but walking distance to a town / restaurants. Like Greece but closer. Have been to Sorrento, Seville and Cannes recently.

Thought it might be best to focus on a great hotel that fits the bill. Minimum four star unless it’s an out of this world boutique place. Can fiy from any London airport.

Any recommendations?

There's a lovely Vincci hotel in Malaga - Larios I think.

If anyone knows of something like Palacio Solecio in Malaga but with a pool then that is exactly the sort of thing I am after…..

https://www.ischiabluresort.com/en/ Also this - but involves a 45 min catamaran trip from Naples. There is a bus directly from airport to port though. It is stunning, and lots of restaurants and a sandy beach in Ischia Porto.

You might want to consider places like Marbella (https://www.booking.com/city/es/marbella) or Malaga (https://www.nh-hotels.com/en/hotel/nh-malaga) You can find some fantastic hotels with pools and easy access to both the beach and town life. Plus, there are plenty of flights from London to Malaga, making it super convenient for you. I came across this site called https://gowithguide.com/spain that offers personalized tours and experiences in Spain, so you can really make the most of your trip. Give it a look and see if anything catches your eye! Cheers 🍻

Don’t really have time for extra transfers on boats etc - probably only going to two nights / three days.

We have been to Marbella many years ago and found it far too blingy for us. Prefer places that feel a lot more local and authentic but thank you for all your suggestions.
