Two cheap strollers vs tandem for hoilday

Going on a family trip don’t want my day to day buggy damaged so Do we buy 2 cheap secondhand strollers that we would potentially do gate to gate collection if Athens international does that.
Or do I buy again a cheap secondhand double that’s slightly more robust for the trip but will be too big to do gate to gate collection and will have to collect off the baggage carousels at each end.

twins are 3 but have gross Motor delay so were very late walking. They could manage the airport but not the whole hoilday.

Why do you think a double will be too big to do gate to gate collection? Or would you consider a travel bag for your own buggy?

I'd do two singles and get the straps that attach to make them a double so you can have maximum flexibility.

Ideally I'd get the ones that can be taken as hand luggage.

I have a bugaboo donkey too many clips to get snapped off even in a travel bag.

as for the size the airline we are flying with states a max size for gate collection which is a size of a compact single when folded. Most airlines don’t have limits but trust me to pick one that does. 🙄

If you have 2 adults who will always be there, I prefer 2 compact singles than a double. Easier to walk along narrow routes and to fold when needed, and can split into adult/child pairs for separate interests. If one child is more able to walk, you could use a buggy board sometimes.

I've brought my donkey on 4 flights a year for the last 5 years in the travel bag, we've had to check it in but never had any issues. I use the Bugaboo bag and although the first time you try put it in it's horrific you get used to it - there's videos on YouTube that you can follow. We once had an issue where the bag got stabbed and got a hole but the buggy was perfect and the airline replaced the bag.

Although where in Greece are you going? If you're staying in Athens it should be ok but not sure how it would do around narrower streets if you're going to an island.

Thanks everyone two compact strollers it is. We are going to Athens so a mix of narrow and wide streets.
