I am USELESS at packing for holidays

Anyone who is good at this stuff, how would you choose what to take for 10 days in the canaries - this time of year?

How many of each item? I ALWAYS overpack and yet end up struggling for outfits for evening.

For ref, I'm unskinny, short and going somewhere hilly

What will you be doing there? What’s the temperature?

Rocknrollstar · 23/03/2024 07:04

When I go in summer I take
3 swimsuits
2 beach dresses
3 long floaty dresses for evening
2 pairs shorts
3 tshirts
flip flops
1 pair sandals for evening
travel in cardigan

no idea why my case is always so full!

10 days?
10 knickers
? Socks - dependant on footwear
5 bottoms (One for evening, one does both)
10 tops - mixture of days and nights. Or, wear one to go out in the eveningx2, then use it as daywear the next day.
2 swimming costumes
Travel in trainers, pack sandals.
Travel in jumper, take a layer for evenings.

Find out if where you’re staying loans pool towels as that’s something that takes up room that may not be needed.

use travel sized toiletries

mix and match clothes - 1 skirt or trousers with 2/3 tops for evening. Same with shorts.

if you’re spending most of the day at the pool then you won’t really need many day time clothes.

3 bikinis or swimming costumes and a couple of coverups

wear trainers on the plane and take flip flops for pool and sandals for evening

Jumper on plane and cardigan for evening

4 adults went away last year for 7 nights, 2 suitcases between us! I am the Queen of packing light!!

Mainly wandering and trying to rest a bit. It's been a brutal few months.
You're all
V helpful thank you! It's putting outfits together I struggle with - I pack loads and then get all overwhelmed!

I'm thinking a couple of pairs of pants (one light one dark) a skirt,a few tops for night, a couple of dresses and 2 cardigans and can mix and match?
For day I'm hoping maybe shorts, t shirts and swimwear

If youre going somewhere hilly wear your walking shoes on the flight to save space. I love mountain warehouse dresses for travelling and the are UV protective so take one for each day but they roll up small and you don't need trousers/top combos.
