Ahh help . 4 of us ( friends ) have decided to get some winter sun feb / march next year but there are differing needs and we are at a loss as to where to go .

Needs - one person cannot walk far and wants to relax by a pool with cocktails and a book . Hotel or apartment in a hotel is preferred for pool , evening entertainment.
- sights and experiences locally or excursions for two people that don't want to spend a week by a pool and enjoy exploring
- warm enough to enjoy being outside .
- a weeks stay at a cost of £600 - £800 .

Are we looking for the impossible or Has anyone stayed anywhere suitable that they could recommend ?

Egypt Red Sea area either Sharm el sheikh or Hurghada . We were there end of Feb/beginning March it was 26c every day. Lovely weather sea was gorgeous , great snorkelling. Not a lot to do outside the resort though except visit Luxor which is a long day (but worth it). We got a great deal this year within your budget all inclusive so worth tracking prices if you are interested

We were in Gran Canaria a couple of weeks ago and it was definitely sunbathing weather. and I swum in the sea every day.

Sightseeing would need to be carefully planned if using buses as were sometimes infrequent, but would be more practical if you hired a car.

Lanzarote is also another good option, but what probably applies to all of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife is that, at that time of year at least, the weather is best in the south, but the more interesting sightseeing is in the north. But the Canaries is probably best for your budget.

Thankyou . I looked at the canaries but it said the daytime temp was about 18 which is a bit too cold . Alright for those exploring but not perhaps for sunbathing by a pool.

It will be warmer than that. Early 20’s usually. We go over Xmas or feb half term.

Egypt is great Oct/Nov and Feb/Mar. Warm enough to lounge by the pool and cool enough to do all the sightseeing trips to the pyramids/valley of the kings etc. It will also suit your budget as long as you go outside school holidays. It's only a 5 hour flight and the hotels are quite luxurious as long as you stick to 4 and 5 star.

I stayed at the Aqua Blu hotel in Sharm many years ago, no idea of price now but it was a nice hotel, plenty of pools to sit beside, plenty of cocktails. There were people that came round selling excursions. You could get taxis into the actual town.

Marrakesh

I’m not sure Egypt is brilliant for excursions unless you are in Cairo lo Luxor. Day trips to pyramids are possible from sharm but are long (coach) or expensive (flight) days. Otherwise it’s Bedouin might, snorkelling or the town, which definitely isn’t Marrakech….

Cape Verde? Costa Adje in Tenerife is usually about 25in the day in January but cooler at night.

Whilst weather is never guaranteed, the Canaries would almost certainly fit the bill. We've been few times in Feb/March over the years, and it's always been warm enough to sunbathe, or sit outside with a drink at the very minimum. It would suit all your needs, as long as you pick a hotel that's reasonably central for those who don't want to sit by the pool all day. But definitely make sure there's a heated pool if you want to swim! Even the heated ones can be quite chilly (or maybe I'm just a wuss)

Egypt could be a good shout. My DD is in Hurghada now, and paid £650 per head for a weeks all inclusive, and is having a lovely time. The weather is good - 25 degrees or so, going up to 30 later this week. Same advice about the pools though! But there's less to do as far as exploring is concerned, it's not so good for just wandering out of the hotel. But there are excursions offered, although they tend to be all-day trips - that might suit the people who want to explore though?
