Like the Dordogne but Spanish speaking

We had a lovely holiday in the Dordogne last year pottering around seeing the towns, castles and caves along with a bit of activity (canoeing, swimming).

This year the kids would like to go somewhere Spanish speaking. I don't know Spain at all so any recommendations for places/areas to explore for a week or so in August?

The northern/Atlantic Pyrénées are lovely, and quite green in summer. San Sebastian is a fantastic town on the beach in a perfect bay. The Picos de Europa are lovely too. Alternatively in the South the hills around Ronda and Grazalema are beautiful and have lots in common with the Dordogne
