I'm looking for something nice but as cheap as possible- any recommendations?

Thanks

Nice. Cheap. AI. Pick 2.

Unless you're happy to pay a lot, I'd avoid AI tbh.

You'd probably have a better experience for less money if you self cater, stock up on drinks, snacks and easy food from the supermarket then plan to eat out once a day, lunch while out and about is often cheaper then you can have a relaxing evening with drinks and snacks bits on the terrace.

Plus unless you specifically want Mallorca, the Canaries might be cheaper overall.

Ok yes thanks - that's good advice

I'm going to be cheeky and follow as I'm torn between Majorca and Lanzarote, we book separately so was leaning more towards Majorca as the flights where much better time for my needs/prices. In Majorca looking at globales don pedro or even one of the barcelo hotels

@hardknocklifeforme I stayed at Viva Cala Mesquida in 2022, which is on the north-east of the island, away from the chaos of Palma. It was lovely and managed to get a pretty good rate! Hope you find somewhere suitable.

We didn’t like our AI in Mallorca. The food was repetitive and a free for all with the booze on tap. It was supposed to be a 4star + resort. I’d have said 3 if it was lucky.
We left the hotel during the day and went out as we hired a car. It’s really easy to drive around. We stayed in Cala d’or iirc.

Cheap and nice is always going to be a pretty straightforward trade-off...

If you don't need the town to be scenic then look at Calas de Mallorca, which is an ugly town purely dedicated to tourism, but (probably as a result) the AI places are €1000 less for a 10-day family stay in August than the same level of food, service, etc in more established towns like Alcudia or Palmanova.
