Are you anywhere near Gullivers (there are 3)? here

DD (6) voted it her very favourite thing when I asked her the other day. But it's great for little ones too, if she's under 90cm (possible at 3) it'll be free, and if she's over 90cm (more likely) she'll be able to go on everything. Well worth an hour's drive or more.

Otherwise a kids' farm or animal park or zoo always hits the spot. If you are in the Midlands I can suggest some (White Post, Twycross)

Any good?

Also if you're in Yorskhire or Derbyshire, this is great:

Sundown Adventure Land

I took DS2 last year for his second birthday (along with 4 year old DS1), and they loved it so much we went again this week.

Agree with Clary that zoos and farms are usually a good bet.

Many council-owned parks, woods and nature reserves now also do great parties involving nature or mini-beast hunts, kite making etc. Worth checking that out in your area as they are great fun for the kids, pretty much regardless of the weather.

agree with kids farms/zoos
Swimming at a fancy place with slides/whirlpools etc (very popular with my two)
Hands-on type science/nat history museum?

Whereabouts are you?

MK Gullivers is about an hour from London, less from N London.

Or is Regents Park zoo worth a look?
