Club Letoonia or Tui Blue Tropical?

Anyone been to one of these hotels recently and can offer any words of wisdom?

I am finally at the point of booking a holiday after months of searching (and previous posting) where I have driven both myself and maybe other people mad!

I was going to book one of the above hotels last night but then my partner looked at tripadvisor ‘average’ reviews and some of what he said concerned me. I don’t care about bad entertainment as we won’t be into that but really wanted nice food/drink if we’re paying for an AI. Also said terrible soundproofing in rooms which is my worst nightmare, haha.

Original criteria was nice AI (Good food, nice pools and close to beach) and suitable for pre-schoolers. Not bothered about water parks etc.

I’m not used to spending so much money on a holiday (I know it’s not much compared to other places) and terrified of making the wrong decision!

I've been looking at booking TUI blue tropical for this year. I am a travel consultant, I've never been to Turkey but I feel like I have after looking at all the hotels daily 🤣 I like that's it's not a long transfer with the kids too x

iliketurtles21 · 14/03/2024 20:57

I can't comment on the other but Tui Blu Tropical is incredible. We went 2021 and booked again for this summer. My children are teenagers but lots for families all ages.
Food amazing, on the beach (but we found to hot in August!) clubs for little ones.
Chilled out but plenty to do if you want. And the 20minute transfer is a winner!
We can't wait to go back!!

I’m starting to feel like I could work in the travel industry with all the research I’ve been doing 😂 Thanks for the information. My deadline is this weekend!

We went to Letoonia last year and also about 10 years ago. It is still the most beautiful setting of any hotel I have been to. It's also in a better location than the tui one as it is in Fethiye and near Olu Deniz and various other good places for trips out. The Tui one is close to the airport but outside a very small town which is just a street of tourist shops. It is near Dalyan though which is really lovely.
At Letoonia, we loved the quality of the food available there plus the free watersports and the amazing scenery. They also have things like art and boxing classes included now as well. There is a Facebook group for Letoonia which will have everything you ever wanted to know. I think it's quite a unique place so would choose that one!

Inthepark · 16/03/2024 11:48

Letoonia was one of our best holidays and we had a pre-schooler at the time. The beaches are so lovely and very shallow, calm water, which was great for paddling and swimming. You can have lunch at the beach bar too which we liked. Gorgeous setting and Letoonia has a boat that goes across to Fethiye. Loved the included watersports and made good use of them, so was good value for money overall too.

Tuesdayclub · 16/03/2024 16:41

Letoonia is absolutely amazing! Between various members of my family we've been maybe 10 times. Fethiye is a lovely town and the hotel will arrange taxis that are very cheap.

Hidingplace · 17/03/2024 00:01

Thank you! My gut was saying Letoonia as am a big sucker for nature/scenery etc and think that’s what I’ll remember.

Hey @Hidingplace did you go to Letoonia in the end? What did you think?

Hidingplace · 30/04/2024 21:29

No, we’re not going until June but actually going to go to the Liberty Lykia instead! I had decided on the Letoonia but we need two rooms and couldn’t find a decent deal so splitting the holiday between a cheaper hotel and then the Lykia. Are you going?

OP posts:
BoredAuditor · 01/05/2024 20:08

Hi OP, yes we're off to Letoonia.

The Lykia was also on our list - looks like a great hotel :-)

Hidingplace · 01/05/2024 22:15

Ahh amazing! Hope you have a lovely time. If you remember then come back and say what the room was like as for me I felt we needed 2 due to our daughter not being a great sleeper! Otherwise we would have gone there!

I will do.

Have a great time too 😊

For those that have been to Letoonia is it really a 5 star? I'm loving the way it looks but a bit put off by some of the reviews. The queues during August, the sunbed rush etc

loopsngeorge · 06/05/2024 09:04

No I don't think it's five star exactly, but it's just a really nice hotel in an amazing setting. We went just before the uk summer holidays and there were times the main restaurant was packed and we had to wait for a seat. Never more than five minutes though and the staff were so efficient in clearing tables and keeping things moving. And yes, there are tons of sunbeds but they do all seem to get filled. I've never been to any resort hotel though where these things aren't an issue in high season. For a more genuine five star I think the Antalya hotels are closer to that but I just love the Letoonia scenery. You could try the Hillside Beach club which is next to Letoonia and meant to be 5 star but it's £££ more.

Just updating as got back yesterday. Really stunning setting and scenery. Plenty to do. Food was very nice.

Have been to swankier resorts that are more luxurious- I wouldn't say Letoonia was luxury at all- but still a very lovely place. I don't regret our choice.

Rooms: our room was basic but clean. Plenty of space for me, dh and 2dc.

BoredAuditor · 02/06/2024 14:34

Plenty of fish in the bay. On land we saw lizards, pea hens and a tortoise. As well as several cats.

HappierTimesAhead · 20/08/2024 10:32

@BoredAuditor I am just looking at Letoonia and wondered if you might come back to the thread! Was it easy to access the slides on the beach? Are they close to a pool? Water slides are my DS (6) biggest priority! Likewise, are the kayaks and pedalos easy to access? Do you need to book them?
I am sold on the location alone but want to make sure it's right for my two DC!

BoredAuditor · 20/08/2024 19:23

Hey, I'm back. The slides are into the sea. You access them from near the top pool that looks out over the beach.

The pedalos and kayaks can be hired just down the same bay that the slides are. No need to book, just turn up and off you go.

There's a FB group that's very informative. There should also be a map on the FB page too. That will give you a better idea of how it is all set out.

The resort is huge. Extremely picturesque.

Hi, I know this is an old post, but thinking of booking Letoonia for July 2026. Family of 4, our daughters will be 13 and 11. Was just wondering what room you booked and what types of beds it is for the kids? When I was looking it offered either a standard room for us or a connecting bungalow, which sounds ideal but a lot pricier. So wondering if we would get away with the standard or better booking elsewhere 🤔

Hey, we just booked a standard room. It was a decent size - my children had a bed each at opposite sides of the room (better for us as they fight!) There is an extremely informative FB group that has a whole file on rooms. Worth joining and having a look - people have posted videos etc.

BoredAuditor · 08/08/2025 15:06

Think from memory they were both pull out type singles. Both comfy from what I recall. For our family interconnecting rooms would have been a waste of money

Thank you! I was looking on Jet2 and the only offer the standard hotel room but the pictures didn’t show where the kids would sleep! I’ll have a look on the FB group. On the beach offer the bungalow connect rooms but a bit too pricey for my budget unfortunately! If you don’t mind me asking, what package provider did you book with? Thanks for all your help. The hotel and location look fab, I think the kids would have a blast there :)

BoredAuditor · 09/08/2025 11:47

Hey, we booked with loveholidays. But think tui and easyjet also package there. We're gatwick closest so don't really look at jet2. I would imagine rooms offered by the package providers are all pretty similar :-)
