Sunshine holidays

I am looking at Sunshine holidays for a last minute half term break. It gives very little info on the rooms for any hotel but I’ve put in that there will be 5 of us travelling so we should be allocated enough space. My concern is that under the food packages, it says double room next to self catering and B&B, with standard double and balcony beside half board and then double again beside full board. With five of us, a double would not be big enough and it doesn’t mention anything about bigger rooms or how many I’d actually be allocated and paying for.

On the hotels own website, it says they have doubles big enough for 3+1 child. So, does that mean Sunshine holidays will automatically reserve two rooms for us? I’m just concerned that we will turn up and find there’s only one room and we have to pay for another or be left stranded. It’s only a short break so don’t really want hassle or more expense when we arrive. Does anyone have any experience of this? It literally gives no info on what is actually being booked.

I agree, the site is confusing. If you are booking for two adults you can choose 1 or 2 rooms. As soon as you say there are 3 children that dropdown goes away. If you change that to 2 children it comes back. That could mean "One there are 5 people in the party we'll let the hotel sort it out", perhaps.

One thing you can do when you find a place you like it to go on Booking dot com and try to book the same place. Booking will show you all the various options for your party. You can say 2 adults plus 3 children in one room (even if that isn't what you want) and if the hotel has apartments/suites that can sleep 5 it will show you them, otherwise it will show two rooms.

I tried this for some hotels that I know and I was surprised how many do in fact have family apartments. I tend to imagine that it's all double or twin and they maybe add in a sofa bed for the third child.
