Has anyone been off season? If so, what would you recommend to do/see? Travelling with teenagers. Thanks!

Not really off season, we were there around 1st September 2022. Are you already booked? There was an earthquake in 2020 and a lot of places were closed/covered in scaffolding when we visited. The Cathedral still looks to be shut and the observation tower too. It looks like the renovations of St Marks church are finished, but recent comments say you still can't go inside. There are lots of good comments about the Museum of Broken relationships, we didn't go in as our youngest was 7 at the time and probably a bit young. Tunnel Gric, a war relic was interesting, you can walk through that. We were in Lotrscak tower where they fired the canon that was interesting. We spent the afternoon in the museum of illusions which the kids enjoyed. Day trips to Plitvice Lakes and Ljubljana a possibility. We went to Slovenia from Croatia, it's beautiful but it was for 6 days to have a proper look around, and we did Plitvice on another holiday, would definitely recommend going there.

Thanks. We haven't booked yet but we are in Italy so it would be a fairly short drive for us. We went to Ljublana a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

We went for new year about ten years ago, they still had an outdoor culture just with heaters. The museum of broken relationships is excellent.
