Any-one know a good hotel in York to take a three year old to?
Only done self catering abroad / Center Parcs before. Not sure how to do without fridge!

We've stayed at the Marriot in York. It's near the racecourse. There have been plenty of families staying when we have been there. It's a friendly enough easy going hotel. We usually book 2 interconnecting rooms

Did you have a family room? The website won't take booking for 3 in a room - unless its all booked up of course! Can you walk to the town centre?

Yes town centre is walk-able but 3 year old would need to be in a buggy (15-20 mins walk)

We have previously booked a room and just had camp beds up for the children with the Marriott, but we prefer the peace and quiet of 2 interconnecting rooms and have done that since. I think the room for the children is at a discounted rate. it is worth ringing and talking to them rather than just trying to book via website

We were in York last year and stayed in the Queens Hotel. This is a 4* hotel just across the river from the main part of the city - ie a 5 minute walk to Jorvik, Minster etc.

With seven of us, we had 2 rooms - one had 2 queen beds and the other had a double and 2 singles - both ensuite. I think each room cost £100 a night, which included breakfast and a three course dinner for four people.
