Virgin Atlantic or American to New York

I haven't flown Virgin Atlantic for a while, but people seem to like it. I flew American to New York recently and it was meh.
Wonder what MNetters would recommend ...

British Airways are much cheaper. Or try Norse airlines or United. They seem better value.

Virgin Atlantic have gone downhill since Delta took them over.

DH flies Virgin on a regular basis and is not really impressed anymore on Premium economy.

We flew Upper Class NY to London and while it wasn‘t bad it wasn‘t really what I remembered when i did it 7 years ago. We flew London - Boston as well and I wasn‘t impressed with the new layout in Upper.

Last time I flew BA to NY was 12 years ago and I found Virgin better at that point. No idea if BA changed since then.
